To me, a great outdoor space is a place that inspires; that makes you want to be there—this is what my new outdoor lifestyle and entertaining magazine The Outdoor Room, launching in Australia in September, is all about.

I'm so excited guys, I can't wait for you to see what we've been working on! The mag will cover everything to do with outdoor living and lifestyle—from furnishings, renovations and decorations, budget makeovers, garden projects, to pets and wildlife, travel, food and entertaining. I promise more details on what's coming up in our launch issue soon!

In other news:

• The brand new series of The Outdoor Room with Jamie Durie is now airing on HGTV, with a brand new prime-time slot of 8pm Fridays, and fresh ideas that I hope you'll be able to use in your own gardens. This week I travel to France for a bit of romantic inspiration.

• Favourite episodes from the first season of The Outdoor Room are also showing each week—this week's episodes features a Mexican courtyard inspired by the color and texture of Frida Kahlo's home.

• You’ll also be pleased to know that I'm about to start shooting series 3 of The Outdoor Room, so we can continue to keep those new ideas coming to you!
